During my internship at Total Reality I created the XMAS AR Game. This game was used as a promotional tool to increase engangement with the company. The person with the highest score after christmas would be giftet a VR headset.
For this game, I came up with the concept, worked on game design and coded the game mechanics in Unity. The game was released for a limited amount of time on the App store and Play store.
The game consisted of a snow globe that could be placed in your surrounding using the camera of your mobile phone. This snow globe served as the play area for the game. After selecting your game character (Total Reality employees as christmas elves) the game starts.
The game loop is about christmas presents that spawn above the play area and fall to the ground. The goal is to catch as many presents as possible. Each present gave points, which gave incentive to catch as many presents as possible. Bombs should be avoided as they explode and damage the player.
The game worked in waves, so after an amount of time the next wave started, with more presents falling but also more bombs, making the game slowly more intense and difficult over time.
