Audio engineering for children's social VR app

Overview

PlaygroundVR was a dutch startup with the mission of bringing a social & fun multiplayer VR experience to hospitalized children. I joined the project in November 2019 as a volunteer and enriched the project with audio over the coming years.

  • composition and production of custom UI audio events
  • supported lead developer with general debugging and testing
  • curated lofi hiphop music in cooperation with ChillHop

Impact

  • during playtests my team members reported that kids did not want to stop playing and exceeded the play time limit
  • the lack of sound was resolved - the game loop felt much more enriched and completed
